Sarah’s Skin Tips for 2015

Wear SPF!
A daily dose of SPF is essential to keeping the ageing process at bay. Ensure that your day cream has an SPF to give yourself some protection against UVA and UVB rays. We often forget during the winter months how strong the sun can be even on the darkest of days, so SPF is essential to protect you against sun damage and premature ageing. Remember that UV rays are there all year round and are even emitted from computer screens so it’s worth investing in a moisturiser with an added SPF.

Do some exercise, however gentle:
Yoga moves like Child’s Pose, Downward-Facing Dog, and Sun Salutations improve circulation and the boost of oxygen is what gives skin that lovely glow. If that’s not reason enough, new research suggests that yoga practice may reduce the inflammation and stress that speed up skin ageing. Namaste!

Clean skin means healthy skin:
Dull skin is a common problem at this time of year and can come from a variety of causes. Mainly it is a result of not cleansing or exfoliating properly leading to a build-up of dead skin cells and sebum which clogs the skin and leaves it sluggish and looking grey. Make sure that you cleanse thoroughly first thing in the morning. My new radiance boosting Rapid Radiance Cleanse is ideal with its luxurious blend of brightening fine rare clays and pore-clearing enzymes to help detoxify dull skin. It can even be left on for a 2 minute mask, while you brush your teeth for brighter, beautifully refreshed looking skin.

Great skin comes from the inside out:
To keep skin plump and hydrated keep up your omega oil intake as well as drinking plenty of water, these essential oils help lock moisture into the skin keeping it healthy and looking fresh. As well as eating oily fish you can take omega supplements to really give your skin a fantastic moisture boost.

Don’t neglect your ears:
Treat your earlobes! These can look stretched, wrinkled, dehydrated and are often neglected so always continue your skincare onto and around the ears. Ears can also get a lot of sun damage as they are constantly exposed. Remember to apply your anti-ageing products in front of and behind the earlobes and around the back of the neck to help prevent slackening.
